Texas - Day 3, March 26

We had a very busy, good day today. Grandmother, Grandaddy, and Dad fixed breakfast (as Dad says, "Betty fixed her hair" :-) It was very good and then after enjoying the lake a bit on the deck we headed out for Beeville and Goliad. We stopped in Beeville for lunch at a place called Shortys. The food was excellent but the restaurant itself was fascinating with stuffed critters on the walls. The best thing about Beeville though is the stories of Grandaddy's growing up and of his family since that is where Grandaddy grew up. We headed out to Goliad after eating and since we went the long way it took us about an hour I think. I was ready to get out and stretch my legs. Goliad is known for its wildflowers and we were able to see some but it was a little early yet for them to be in full bloom but what we saw was still beautiful.
