The neighborhood is safe!

With these two around, you can be sure there will be no thing "un-barked" at!

New Lens, Old Victims

I got a new lens last week and I just got a chance to try it out on Savanna. I took a few shots last week of the boys and dogs but today was really the first time I was able to take it out and really practice. Savanna is really a good sport!

Reminiscing

Savanna and I went to the storage room and got the Rubbermaid container with her old recital costumes. Roxie was quite intriqued with the big box of costumes. She would have loved to be able to get inside and just roll around in them!

Rox and Lex

Roxie is a kook! They both love bones but the peanut butter ones are worth fighting for! Lexie will be trying to chew on her bone and Roxie gets right up under her and will even go as far as licking the bone! We think she even got a piece of it off for herself! Lexie hates it and growls and snarls at her but it doesn't seem to phase Roxie one bit!

My Boys

Don't I have some handsome boys? I thank God for these two everyday!

Our Babies

Lexie and Roxie bring so much joy to our family! Roxie is really scruffy right now, she is getting her second hair cut tomorrow. I wanted to get a couple of pictures of her before she gets groomed. Savanna is "eat up" with Roxie!!

Orlando, Day 5, July 3, 2007

We are home!! We left this morning about 10 am and arrived home at 10:45 pm. The gala was nice last night, I didn't take my camera so I don't have any pictures. Yesterday morning the girls danced on one of the stages at MGM studios. Savanna was on stage for maybe 10 seconds and I got a quick shot of her. She's the one in the middle with the pony tail flying. The other picture is of Savanna with the other girls on the dance team.

We are so glad to be home for at least 6 weeks until we head to Tennessee to visit.

Orlando, Day 4 July 2, 2007

Well, today was pretty much filled with dance. Savanna left early in the morning for class and the rest of us slept until about 10. Just as we were getting up and getting ready for the pool, Savanna came back and said that Diane told them they could have a break from classes until 1. Apparently Diane had seen the score sheets from the night before and there was one judge that completely slammed the girls and caused their low scores. That particular judge was the one teaching the class that Diane let them skip. It turned out nice though because we were able to swim together and then have lunch together before the boys left for the airport. We ate lunch down at the convention center and she walked down to her last class. Brad took the boys to the airport for their flight. When Savanna got back from class we went to competition and watched a couple of the team members do their solos and then we picked up Brad and went to Downtown Disney. We wanted to eat dinner down there because we are tired of the food here. DD was okay, Savanna bought her souvenir which is a silver ring with her middle name (Shea) cut into it. It turned out really pretty and she is quite pleased.

We got back to the resort just in time for her to get ready for her solo. She wasn't expecting much as far as awards because of the one judge so I think she was probably more relaxed. I told her she was not dancing for the judges but for Dad and me - after all we paid to have her up there on that stage! She did great! We were very pleased, in fact all of our girls did beautifully. At awards only she and one other girl got high golds as awards. I was so happy for her. The other girl who got the high gold has a dance room in her house! Her mother lives vicariously through her of course I guess if I had to be honest I probably do to some extent too :-) LOL We have one more day here and then we will be heading home tomorrow. Today she is in a show at the MGM studios from 9-9:30 and then we are free until tonight when we have a "gala" to attend. I'm exhausted and want to go home!

Orlando, Day 3 July 1, 2007

The guys went to the parks yesterday but Savanna and I were here at the hotel all day. She had classes until 2 and I hung out at the pool and worked on the computer while she was in classes. Competition started yesterday afternoon so that is what we did all afternoon. They were pretty disappointed in their scores, all the dances that Savanna was in got high silvers and one gold. She was pretty upset as were all of the girls. They have had a lot of upheavals in the last couple of months. One of the girls got kicked off the team so they had to rework all the dances she was in, then one of the girls didn't come down for nationals so those dances were reworked and another girl who used to be in company took her place. She learned all the dances in the last month. I'm afraid it probably shows when they perform that they are not very cohesive. That is just my untrained, layman's opinion :-) Her solo is tonight and I'm afraid she may have herself worked into a frenzy by then. I am concerned that it is no longer "fun" anymore. She loves to perform and the benefit of being on the team is that she gets to perform several more times a year than when she is just in classes. But, if she is going to get so upset, I don't know that it is worth it. She hates the judging part of it. After classes today we have a few hours of free time and we are going to go down to "Downtown Disney" and look around. She really hasn't had much free time and maybe this will help get her mind on something else besides the competition. Then this evening she has her solo. I didn't take any pictures yesterday but I will have my camera with me today.

Orlando, June 30, 2007

I haven't been able to "blog" due to not being able to get time on the computer. I'll do what I can to keep you updated. We actually got here on the 29th but we had just enough time to check in to our room and then head out for something to eat and to pick up Ryan from the airport. I was very pleased with our room and this resort. We are staying at the Coronado Springs resort at Walt Disney World. I think we got the best room in the whole resort. It is right beside a little quiet pool and the laundry is next to that and it is within a five minute walking distance of the convention center where the dance competition will be taking place. I talked to the maid yesterday and she even said that if she were staying in any of the Disney resorts in any room it would be this one because of the location. I am very impressed with Disney, they sure know how to do things. I guess they have had many years to perfect it though.

So, yesterday morning I got up with Savanna and walked over to the convention center with her. She had workshops from 8:30 - 2:00 with a 45 minute lunch break. The guys headed to Universal Studios theme parks and I washed clothes and laid out by the pool. I went and picked up some chicken wraps and had lunch with Savanna and then came back and laid by the pool until 2 when I came in and got a shower. Savanna arrived back right before the guys did and then we all headed back out to Universal Studios. This was the only day that Savanna had that much free time. Competitions started but only for the juniors. We had a great time riding rides. It was really hot and the first few had long lines but since we got there so late in the afternoon the lines quickly got shorter. They rode a couple of roller coasters and I sat and waited for them - I don't do roller coasters :-). We stopped about 7:30 and had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe and then headed back out and did two more attractions. We did the Terminator 3-D and the Shrek 4-D. The guys had already done the Terminator one but they wanted us to do it too. The park was closing by this time so we headed back to the hotel and we were all exhausted. The kids got into the pool for a little while but I was just too tired and I went to bed.
